The idea for this piece came from my love of the Elder Scrolls games series produced by Bethesda Softworks. In the fifth installment Skyrim, a primary cultural pillar of the nordic people in this icebound landscape is their love and use of music and magical projections of their voice called the Thu’um. This work is a hymn I imagine the Nords singing to their god-king Talos on the eve of a great battle.
