“Always Something New” came about as a reflection on my experience studying at University of Illinois. In it I attempted to leverage the styles of sever composers significant to that Institution and reconcile them with my own. The result is a kaleidoscopic work that pushes the sonic boundaries of the wind ensemble and strives to capture the balance of chaos and order that defines the human experience. “Always Something New” is dedicated with admiration to my teacher Kevin Geraldi.
