The last and most famous of his 24 virtuosic capricci for violin, this work is a tour de force for the instrument, and this version for euphonium is no exception. Envisioned as a more note for note transcription than previously published versions, this transcription places more demands on the lower end of the euphonium register and utilizes multiphonics in 2 of its 11 variations. An essential part of the Italian musical tradition, the zest and elegance of this work make it a great addition to any program.
