This work was designed in order to help students master 7/8 time. The 2, 2, 3 pattern in the beginning is mirrored in the third section just at a faster pace while using the middle section in 6/8 to clarify the change of the beat.

Students will...

- develop competency about 7/8 time

- understand antecedent and consequent phrasing

- be able to define and demonstrait the difference between, dupal, triple, and asymmetric meter

- be able to define and identify impressionist style

- become more comfortable seeing frequent meter changes

- be introduced to Dorian and Phrygian mode

- develop greatter playing indepence within a larger texture
